My favorite time to camp is in the fall when it’s not so hot and crowded. In Floyd, an added benefit is the many fall festivals. Crooked Mountain is a picturesque and affordable place to camp, just a few minutes away from the Blue Ridge and Floyd. While their flower farm has peaked, there are still plenty of wild flowers near the creek and on their trail (available to campers only). Motorcycle friendly.
