Who we are:

After retiring from a 23-year Army career, Brian and Christy found their forever home in the mountains of Floyd, VA. Since then they have been creating a destination for both tourists and locals who share their passions. For Brian, it’s his love of motorcycles, camping, and adventure. For Christy, it’s to create beauty through her art and growing flowers on the farm. They share a love for the mountains and primitive camping (the way camping is meant to be). Now empty-nesters, they are proud of their children who among other accomplishments, are also avid motorcyclists.

Where we are:

Crooked Mountain is a short 4-mile drive from the quirky town of Floyd, Va, and just half a mile off of the Blue Ridge Parkway (mile marker 159.3). Floyd is renowned for its charming small-town atmosphere and the local’s love of music and art. There are plenty of shops and restaurants to keep you busy, and the weekends are packed with live music, farmer’s markets and other special events.

Crooked Mountain is also located near some of the best motorcycle routes on the East Coast. The Back of the Dragon is a scenic 2.5 hour ride away, the Mid-Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route is less than 45 minutes away from the farm, and of course the Blue Ridge Parkway at the end of our road is the most heavily traveled motorcycle route in the region. Floyd County is home to the most Parkway road mileage of any county, and also boasts 200 miles of twisty, curvy and beautiful gravel back roads that are great for exploring.

What we offer:

Our campground currently has 6 private creek-side sites and open field space available for tent camping.

The store is stocked with camping essentials (things you may have forgotten), farm products (like farm fresh eggs), snacks, drinks, local vendor products, artisan items, and souvenirs including Virginia is for Lovers apparel and Crooked Mountain gear!

In the summer you will find our fields full of cut flowers ranging from sunflowers, zinnias, rudbeckia, snapdragons, and more. We are a you-pick flower farm where you can purchase a container and pick your own bouquets.
